COFA Tops Excellence in Research (for Australia) ERA 2012 National Report

COFA, UNSW has received top results in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2012 National Report.

In this national benchmark report, COFA received the highest possible ratings in the following three areas: Art Theory and CriticismFilm Television and Digital Media and Visual Arts and Crafts. The ERA is produced by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and is a comprehensive review of research undertaken in Australian higher education institutions.

NIEA Director and COFA’s Associate Dean Research, Professor Jill Bennett explains:

"The ERA outcome is a reflection of COFA and UNSW’s commitment to a long term strategy for research growth. Our leading Research Centres and groups have been established for a decade and the National Institute for Experimental Arts was founded in early 2011 to support innovative experimental practice at the highest level. The results attest to the depth of research at COFA—but also to the fact that we are now very strong across the board in digital media, art theory, and all areas of visual art practice."
